Aries It’s your creativity that is coming to the forefront of your attention now. Creativity is literally what you create, whether that is a project, game or child (pro-creativity), and over this month you are continuing to experience new ways of expressing yourself. It’s a great time for test, taste, trial, experience and experiment, but a lousy time to make long term commitments either to yourself or to others. There are new opinions, attitudes and ideas forming now and it would be foolish to rush blindly into short term fascinations, because there lays enchantment and seduction. Better to be aware of the day to day, and leave long term decisions for another month or so.

The idea of courtship, being courted or wooed, is very appealing now. Regardless of your current personal situation, you will find that this month is a pleasing time of steady popularity and social development. It is a great month for romantic formation, for the beginning of something new, either within or without existing situations. But this is romance, not relationship; it is the pleasure of the moment more than the future. Enjoy whilst it’s there, by March you come back down to earth.

This is perhaps one of the two hardest months of the year for you in that this is definitely not a time for growth or expansion. Instead this is a great time for stepping back and looking at recent developments with a more critical eye and cutting a few of your losses. This is not so much ending as it is weeding and pruning, and the streamlining that you can do now will do much to guarantee the future, so don’t be scared to make a few cuts now – it’s the time to do it.

You really are well of out of it all at the moment. There are huge developments about to occur that are going to shake a lot of people, but this won’t directly affect you as long as you maintain a degree of honesty and integrity, both to and from you. And it would be foolish to get too involved yet, because you need to conserve your energy until June onwards, from when on there will be ample opportunities to be more proactive and assertive.

Taurus Slowly but steadily, you’ll find that February is a time where you are re-inserting yourself back into community in a way that makes you feel more valued and wanted. By the middle of the month there’s a distinct switch in the emphasis at the day be day level, from your public image/career situation into that of your social life and your popularity amongst your friends. Indeed, the end of the month is an excellent time for contacting people from your recent past and re-affirming old ties. This is one of the best times of the year to take a few chances, especially in the first two weeks of the month. Your ability to see the big picture and to make links between different areas of life is strong, and you’re in a good position to benefit. Whilst there may be significant improvements in communications at all levels with people, this will be seen as an intellectual and mental feelgood time, when mental positivity brings reward. But don’t forget to nurture your emotional side, because here is the weak point. Gemini The first half of the month has a very philosophical feel about it, a desire to not only know the truth but also to speak and practice the truth in a way that both makes you proud of yourself and also dramatically improves your standing within your local community. But by the second half of February this almost altruistic approach to life will have passed and you’re likely to find yourself becoming steadily more and more embroiled in the pull between work and home, career and family, and you’ll have to make choices accordingly. Better to concentrate on your roots and foundations, because if they are not steady then everything else can be wobbly.

For once, the core Gemini principle of communication is at the centre of things. The way that you walk your talk in your one to one relationships during the first half of the month will dictate the circumstances of the second half, especially in your professional domain. There’s a basic philosophy here that says that if you always tell the truth then you never have to remember what you’ve said. And if you only deal with people that tell you the truth even if you don’t like it, at least you know where you stand.

For many of you the coming month offers typical Geminian duality. There can be largesse, overreaching and overspending, especially in the professional arena, and in the short term it would be easy to go completely over the top. Viewed over the longer term, this is one third of the way through a period of establishment and structure at the professional level, so don’t blow it by short term greed or desire, especially if you’re born in May.

It sometimes takes this degree of separation to finally realise that every single one of us is different, and that that’s what makes the world go round. Cancer Despite the background feeling of increasing pressure and density being caused by both Saturn and Pluto, this month is time for staying relatively low. There’s nothing wrong, and nothing to be worried about, but at the same time there’s a good case for saying that if it’s working, don’t fix it. Why make waves? There will come a time later in the year when you can be proactive with a much greater degree of efficiency and effectiveness, but now is not such a time. Leo So many ongoing changes, and that’s just inside yourself, let alone your position in the outside world. This is a month of continuing internal self development, with many new realisations. This month is a continuation of a period of assessment and examination of recent developments, and as such is a great time for experience and event, but not for long term decisions, for which you’ll have to wait until March if not April. Virgo With so many planets in the sky opposite your sign, February is a great time to assess your standing in all of your one to one relationships, whether they are personal and intimae, friend or family, or professional and external to the home. You are likely to become steadily more aware of the impact that individuals are having on your life, and you have to ask yourself if this is a good thing or if you are slowly losing or even surrendering your power in certain situations. Bring a willingness to share with you when you come to the negotiating table, but remember you’re coming from a position of strength and that no-one else has power over you.

Libra Saturn is now beginning to consolidate itself in your sign in a way that suggests a kind of ‘digging in’, when you can begin to really get to grips with the challenges of recent months. Things aren’t going to get any worse during February, but neither is there going to be dramatic or radical improvement. What you can do is bring a degree of structure and solidity into what you have left after the ravages ongoing since last November and make these things the basis for the new building work that is upcoming over 2010. Scorpio In recent months there’s been a lot of to-ing and fro-ing in areas concerning family members, and some of the outcomes have not been to your liking. You can’t make things any better in the short term, so don’t bother trying. A better use of your energy would be to start bringing a degree of richness and reward into those family relationships that are still supportive. Time to cut a few losses and realise that your rue family is not necessarily flesh and blood, but instead those who unconditionally love and support you in your current situation, and you’ll find that as the month evolves so the younger family members become more involved.

It’s important to keep clear boundaries between your social scene and your professional career so that there can be no confusion. Sagittarius There’s a background energy of nurturing going on. This could be the ways in which you nurture others, for example by feeding, clothing or protecting them. Or it could be the way in which you allow yourself to be nurtured by others. Either way, issues around safety, security and being protected are paramount this month, and if all else fails then step back and make sure that you nurture yourself. It’s a good month for eating well and managing your dietary and digestive systems, as well as staying warm and looking after your health. But make sure the boundaries between your professional and personal life are clear to you, because otherwise there’s the risk of crossover, and then things get messy.

Capricorn  As Pluto continues its inexoricable march through your sign, so you are becoming better at handling both pressure and responsibility, although the corresponding weight on your shoulders is also a great load to bear. However, the intensity and potential for extremes is now on the wane for at least a few months, and your situation will not get any worse. You can step down a gear, and whilst you can’t relax you can decrease your levels of alertness because there’s nothing new coming in that’s going to distract or challenge you over the coming month, at least nothing of substance. Get used to the pressure and use it to hone and sharpen yourself.

The Aquarius new Moon on the 14th February is right on top of Neptune, suggesting that a decade of uncertainty and the potential for illusion as well as the capacity for a greater sensitivity to the outside world is drawing to a close. If you find that this month offers a degree of doubt or uncertainty in your dealings with others, then be careful and don’t believe everything that you’re told. There can be mystery, fog or uncertainty, so no major new big decisions in mid month.

Pices As Jupiter consolidates its grip on your sign, so this month should be a time where your vision and capacity for direct experience becomes steadily more enhanced. Indeed, the end of the month is a time where if you are not careful you could easily go completely over the top and overreach yourself. However, at the same time there is also the potential for growth and expansion in a way that has not been around since 1998. It’s a question of knowing when to stop and say ‘enough’, before going into the land of greed and overstatedness. Live within your self imposed boundaries and you will do well. Just don’t overstretch yourself.
