Cockatoo Feather Lakota Sioux Sacred Prayer Fan

Sacred feather prayer fans are an ancient tradition that spans many cultures and nations. Sacred prayer fans are used to help dispatch prayers to the heavens, and are considered to hold great healing power. Sacred prayer fans can also be used when smudging or cleansing a space, to bless a person or space, to give gratitude, and during healing work.

Cockatoo feathers used in these fans are naturally shed from birds in a free-flighted aviary.

Cockatoos, like Macaws, are also a type of parrot. However, their personalities are frequently calmer, and they seem to carry a gentler energy. Cockatoo is a good match for energy work that needs to be a bit softer, but still powerful, and containing a loving, compassionate energy. For some people, like with the white turkey feather fans, the Cockatoo feathers are a nice match for Angelic energy, and they have great success by likening the Cockatoo feathers to angel feathers.

Each sacred prayer fan is handmade and just as no two feathers are alike so is every fan unique. Sacred prayer fans are a wonderful healing tool with a myriad of uses that can blend with any tradition or background.

Please note that all fans use domestic bird feathers, as it is illegal to sell or possess feathers from birds of prey.
